This past week, while working on "Red":

• I read Makenna Goodman’s Helen of Nowhere, which made me feel very committed to living in a city, any city; and I read “Le nu féminin en mouvement”, unlocked by The Paris Review in honour of its author, Peter Nadas, who passed away at the end of August. 
• I took a Pochinko clowning workshop taught by Kendall Savage, in which we played around with how to better combine the physical and the metaphysical in performance. 
• The movie Rose of Nevada is out on streaming and got really under my skin after a late-night watch.
• On repeat: “Besala Mucho” - Tamara Flores, Tourist; “Slug” - TR/ST; and “Abiotic Factors” - Patricia Wolf.
• I got to cuddle my cousin’s adorable little boys and read them a bedtime story, by far the highlight of the week, though followed closely by catching up with another cousin after a (long) year apart.
• I ate lots of local strawberries. Fitting, considering this week’s theme of red.
